The Extraordinary Oil conditioner is the coconut one in the Elvive range, and coconut is a sensible choice for the job. It is a rich formula that conditions from root to tip rather than only on the ends, so hair that is uniformly dry gets treated uniformly. The result is hair that lies down instead of standing up: less frizz, fewer flyaways, and enough shine that it reads healthy in daylight.
It is heavier than the Colour Protect or Dream Lengths versions in the same range, so fine hair may find it too much at the roots. Coarse, thick or dry hair is where it makes sense, and it works well before a blow-dry when you want the finish to hold.

Application tips
Squeeze the water out of your hair before this goes on. Conditioner applied over a soaking wet head slides straight off, and you end up using twice as much for half the effect.
Two or three minutes is enough. Comb it through with a wide-tooth comb while it sits, then rinse with the water a shade cooler than you washed in. Coarse hair can take a little at the scalp; anything finer should stay below the ear line.
Results
The immediate difference is drag. Wet hair that fought the comb stops fighting it, and that is where most of the day's breakage was coming from.
Dry, the hair sits flatter and catches light along its length instead of in patches. On thick or coarse textures it holds that smoothness through a blow-dry rather than puffing up as the heat comes off.
