The Extraordinary Oil conditioner is the coconut one in the Elvive range, and coconut is a sensible choice for the job. It is a rich formula that conditions from root to tip rather than only on the ends, so hair that is uniformly dry gets treated uniformly. The result is hair that lies down instead of standing up: less frizz, fewer flyaways, and enough shine that it reads healthy in daylight.
It is heavier than the Colour Protect or Dream Lengths versions in the same range, so fine hair may find it too much at the roots. Coarse, thick or dry hair is where it makes sense, and it works well before a blow-dry when you want the finish to hold.
