Sheen spray is a finishing step and nothing more. You hold the can back, mist over a finished style, and the hair goes from matte to glossy in a second. Diamonds is Design Essentials' version, and the 10oz can is the one that lives on a shelf rather than in a bag.
The formula is cyclomethicone and dimethicone over a base of mineral oil and jojoba oil. The two silicones give the reflective finish and smooth the cuticle so frizz lies flat. Mineral oil seals moisture in, and jojoba is light enough to condition without dragging the style down.
Oil sheen sprays get a bad name from the ones that go on wet and stay that way. Cyclomethicone is what keeps this one clear of that, since it evaporates off the hair and leaves the smoothing behind instead of sitting there all day.

Application tips
Shake the can, then hold it a good distance from the head, further than feels right, and mist in short bursts while moving your hand. Close-range spraying is what leaves a wet patch.
Use it as the very last thing, after every other product and after any heat. A quick pass over the canopy is plenty. Nothing to comb through and nothing to work in.
Results
Matte hair turns glossy in seconds. The change is instant and it lands evenly across the head rather than in patches.
