Violet cancels yellow. That is the entire mechanism behind every silver conditioner, and it is why a purple product makes blonde hair look cleaner rather than purple.

Cameleo Silver carries enough violet pigment to neutralise the warm, brassy tones that turn up in bleached blonde, natural grey and platinum hair a few weeks after a salon visit. It tones and conditions in the same step, so the hair is not left dry the way toning shampoos often leave it.

How long you leave it on decides how much it does. One to three minutes for a light correction, five or more for hair that has gone properly brassy, and rinse sooner rather than later the first time until you know how your hair takes pigment. Grey hair in particular grabs colour fast.

Two practical warnings. Violet pigment stains, so wear gloves and rinse the shower down afterwards. Porous hair takes it much faster than healthy hair does, which is why bleached ends can come out noticeably cooler than mid-lengths from the same application. Comb it through evenly and start with less time than you think you need.

200ml. Use it once or twice a week with a normal conditioner in between, rather than at every wash, and the tone stays even instead of building up patchy.

Application tips

Clean, wet hair takes pigment more evenly, so this goes on after the shampoo and gets combed through properly. Patchy coverage produces patchy tone and there is no fixing that except waiting it out.

Time it deliberately and rinse early on the first attempt. Every head takes violet at a different speed, porous and grey hair fastest of all. Wear gloves.

Results

Warm, brassy tones drop out and the blonde or grey underneath reads clean again, most obviously in daylight. The conditioning base means hair finishes with slip, where a toning wash leaves a squeak, so a comb goes through it straight away. The shine is soft, and the tone holds for a week or so before it wants repeating.
