VO5 Matt Clay works on dry hair, giving a matte finish with enough grip to hold texture, separation and messy or spiked shapes through the day. It stays pliable rather than going rigid, so hair still moves and you can push it back into shape without starting again. Nothing shiny, nothing crunchy, and no heavy product look.
Warm a small amount between your fingertips first, then work it through from the mid lengths up. The 75 ml tub goes a long way at that dosage. Adding more later is easy, taking it out is not, so start with less than you think you need.
Best on short to mid length cuts with some natural texture to work with.

Application tips
Take a fingertip's worth, no more, and rub it between your palms until it goes clear and warm. Cold clay drags.
Apply to dry hair, never wet, working from the back forward and from the roots out so you do not dump it all on one section. Push the shape in with your fingers instead of combing. Add a second small amount only where you want more separation.
Results
Matte, dry and grippy rather than shiny, which is what separates a clay from a wax. It gives texture to hair that has none and holds a messy, deliberately unfinished shape all day without setting hard.
Fingers can go back through it at four o'clock and rearrange things. Thick, coarse hair takes it best; very fine hair needs so little that 75ml lasts a long time.
