Truzone Cream Peroxide 3% 10 Vol | Gentle Hair Colour & Toning Activation for Professional & At-Home Hair Colourists | 250 ml / 8.45 oz
If you tone, refresh a shade or deposit colour without wanting lift, 10 vol is the developer you reach for. Truzone's 3% cream peroxide activates the dye without pushing the hair lighter, which makes it the right partner for going darker, keeping a shade topped up, or knocking brassy yellow out of blonde.
It comes as a cream rather than a runny oxidant, so it mixes to a workable consistency and stays where you put it. The 250 ml bottle suits people who colour at home every few weeks and would rather not have a litre sitting in the cupboard going to waste.
Common uses:
- Toning yellow and brassy tones out after lightening
- Depositing permanent colour with no lift
- Darkening or refreshing an existing shade
- Building rich, deep tones through the mid lengths and ends
Mix with your chosen tint at the ratio that product specifies, and give it the development time the colour manufacturer states rather than the one you remember.

Application tips
Ten volume is the one for toner, gloss and going darker. Mix it with your colour at the ratio on that box or tube, and expect a thinner working consistency than a higher volume gives.
Apply quickly and evenly, because deposit-only colour shows a line wherever you overlapped. Time it from the moment the last section is covered. Patch test 48 hours before, gloves on, and keep it off the skin.
Results
Colour goes on rather than lifting off, so what you get is tone and depth instead of lightness.
Greys take pigment more evenly than they do at a higher volume, and the result sits closer to the shade on the box. Because there is very little lift, hair comes through the process in better condition. Refreshing mid-lengths and ends is where this bottle earns its keep.
Composition
- Peroxide
- At 3% it activates the colour with almost no lift, so tone dominates
