Tresemme built the Shineplex mask for exactly that gap. It is an intensive treatment, so it replaces your conditioner on wash day rather than being tacked on afterwards.

Work it through washed hair from mid-length to ends, leave it a few minutes, then rinse cool if you can stand it. Cool water closes the cuticle faster and the shine is more obvious.

Application tips
Rinse the shampoo out fully first. Anything left behind stops a mask sitting properly on the hair.
Squeeze, do not rub, then take a generous scoop and press it in section by section, so every strand is coated rather than just the outside layer. Ten minutes under a shower cap does more than three minutes in the open air. Skip your usual conditioner afterwards.
Results
The dull band through the mid-lengths comes back into line with the roots, so the colour reads as one shade rather than two. Hair feels denser and less porous after a rinse. Gloss is the giveaway that it has worked: colour on a smooth surface looks saturated, colour on a rough one looks faded even when the pigment is still there.
