The practical use is moisture that stays put. It moisturises the hair and scalp, and it seals dry ends, which is the job black castor does better than almost anything else. That makes it a leave-in treatment as much as a pre-wash one, and it works as a hot oil treatment if you want to warm it first and cover the hair for twenty minutes. The 118.3 ml/4.0 oz size is small because you use very little at a time. Application tips
Two or three drops rubbed between the palms is the working amount, and even that will look like too much until you spread it.
For a pre wash, coat the hair an hour before you shampoo and clip it up out of the way. For scalp work, part in rows and apply directly, then massage for a minute or two. Wash day should follow within a couple of days.
Results
Thickness is the point here: it stays on the hair instead of disappearing within the hour, and ends stop looking dry and pale by the afternoon. Hair gains weight and a deep sheen.
On coarse or coily textures it makes the difference between a moisturised strand and one that drinks everything and stays thirsty. Overdo it and hair goes limp, so build up slowly.
