Five minutes is the selling point. The whole application, mixing to rinsing, runs on a five minute development, which puts it in a different category to the half hour wait most permanent colour asks for.

  • 100% grey coverage in a jet black shade
  • Five minute development from application to rinse
  • Aloe Vera and Honey in the conditioning formula
  • Complete kit aimed at men's hair and shorter lengths

Jet black is the darker of the two shades in the Dark & Natural range and it reads as a true black rather than a softened one. On a head that has gone mostly grey it will look like a bigger change than natural black would, which is worth thinking about before a first application.

The aloe and honey are there to stop a short development leaving hair feeling stripped.

Short hair is what the five minutes is designed around. On longer lengths you are working against the clock to get colour on evenly, so it pays to have everything laid out before you mix rather than after.

Application tips

Patch test 48 hours ahead, every time, even if you have used the same shade for years. On the day, work on dry unwashed hair, put the gloves on and mix the two parts only when you are ready to start.

Cover the greyest areas first, usually the temples and the front hairline, then work back. Rinse when the time on the leaflet is up and follow with the conditioner sachet. Do not stretch the timing.

Results

Grey goes fully opaque rather than turning a lighter version of the target shade, so the result reads as one solid tone across the head. Jet black lands cold and deep rather than warm.

The conditioning step afterwards leaves hair feeling smooth rather than squeaky and stripped, which is usually what gives a home dye job away. New growth shows at the parting first, so plan the next touch up around that.

Composition

Aloe Vera
Conditions during the colouring step so hair does not feel stripped
Honey
A humectant in the mix, so strands hold moisture through the process
Glycerin
