Pastels need a pale canvas. This range only works on hair that has already been bleached or lightened, and on anything darker the shade will barely register. Worth knowing before you buy rather than after you have rinsed.
On pre-lightened hair, the four shades give soft, low-saturation colour that washes out in up to eight shampoos. That short life is the appeal for most people. A festival weekend, a run of parties, a fortnight of something different, then back to normal without waiting months for it to grow out.
Application is the usual at-home process with no developer to mix or measure. Semi-permanent, so it fades evenly instead of leaving a line at the roots as it goes.

Application tips
Begin with clean hair, free of conditioner and styling product, towel-dried. Barrier cream along the hairline and over the tops of the ears saves a scrubbing session afterwards, and the gloves are there for a reason.
Section into four and paint from roots to ends, saturating each piece properly, because a thin coat is where blotchy pastel starts. Leave it for the stated time, rinse in cool water and skip shampoo on that first wash.
Results
Colour lands soft and low in saturation, which is the character of a pastel rather than a shortcoming. On a pale base the tone reads clearly and evenly across the head.
Every wash takes a little more out, so the shade drifts paler instead of patchy, and around eight shampoos in it has gone. The hair stays soft throughout, since nothing has to open the cuticle to get the pigment in.
