Application tips
The black tint is doing a second job, so use it where a parting or a thin patch shows scalp through the style.
Load a small amount onto an edge brush, press it into the hairline and comb the shorter hairs flat. Blot any that lands on skin straight away with a damp cloth, because the pigment will mark a collar. Scarf on top while it sets.
Results
