QUEEN HELENE Almond Scented Massage Cream for Scalp Nourishment & Hair Styling Definition 15 Oz
The name is a little misleading. It is sold as a massage cream and it does work rubbed into the scalp, but most of its life is spent as a heavy conditioning cream and a styling grease for setting shorter styles.
Sweet almond oil is what it is built on, and that accounts for the smell and most of the softening. It is rich, close to a pomade in feel, and 15 oz is a lot of product, so it is sized and priced for regular use rather than an occasional treat.
- Softens dry, brittle-feeling hair and makes it easier to comb
- Gives a tight, dry scalp a more comfortable feel when massaged in
- Adds shine and holds shorter styles in shape
- Works as a base for wraps, sets and roller sets
Section the hair, work a small amount along the scalp with your fingertips, then smooth the rest down the strands. Heavy hands make it greasy, so build it up slowly.

Application tips
It does two jobs and the amount is what separates them. A fingertip melted between the palms and pressed onto the scalp is the massage version, worked in slowly with the pads of the fingers.
Double that, smoothed over dry or damp lengths, is the styling version. For definition, apply in sections and twist or coil each one. Build up gradually, since this is rich and easier to add than to wash out.
Results
Brittle hair softens and picks up shine, and there is enough grip in the cream to hold a twist or a set without going stiff.
Skin at the roots feels comfortable rather than dry and tight afterwards. The almond scent is the part most people comment on, warm and lingering rather than sharp. Because it stays where you put it, the same tub works as a conditioner and as a setting product.
