Application tips
Two hundred millilitres is a lot of gel, so measure out what one application actually needs rather than emptying the bottle. Dry hair, gloves, and a parting comb are the kit.
Lay the gel along each parting first, then take it through the lengths with the comb. Grey at the front wants a little extra sitting time. Rinse it out at the sink, not in the shower, and keep it clear of your eyes.
Results
Colour comes out a warm dark brown rather than a cold one, and the grey is covered rather than tinted. Skipping ammonia takes the sharp smell out of the process, which matters if you are colouring in a small bathroom.
Hair feels conditioned afterwards rather than squeaky and stripped, so a comb runs through it the same evening. Expect the depth to soften slightly over the first few washes.
