Edie is a synthetic lace front aimed squarely at looking real in ordinary light. The lace front mimics a natural hairline, and the fibre has been made to sit and move the way hair does rather than lying in the uniform sheet that gives cheap wigs away.

The cap is breathable mesh, which sounds like a small detail until you have worn a solid cap through a warm day. Air moves through it, so the scalp underneath is not overheating, and the whole thing is light enough to wear from morning to night without noticing.

Motown Tress build these fibres for durability, which is really a question of how many wears you get before the style stops holding. These hold. Wash it properly, store it on a stand, and it keeps its shape a long time.

A solid everyday wig for Black women who want a realistic hairline without a human hair budget.

Application tips

Cap your own hair down first, then set the lace along your hairline and secure at the temples and the nape. Trim the excess and press it flat.

Wash it in cool water with a little shampoo, swirling rather than scrubbing, and hang it to dry. Never brush it wet, and always store it on a stand between wears.

Results

Ordinary daylight at ordinary distances is the only test that counts, and the hairline passes it.

Fibre falls and moves rather than sitting in a flat sheet, so it does not announce itself. The mesh cap keeps the head cool through a long day. Looked after properly, the style keeps its shape over many more wears than a cheap unit manages.

Composition

The full INCI is printed on the pack. We publish it here as soon as the brand supplies it, and we will read it off the bottle for you if you ask.
