Most gels come out of a tub. This one sprays, which changes how you can use it. You can mist it onto the ends of a style that has already been set, rather than taking the whole thing apart to reapply.
It was made for type 4 hair and air-dried wash-n-gos. The gel elongates and clumps the curl pattern, then sets it, and it dries fast enough that you are not waiting around for hours. The hold is medium and flexible, so definition survives without the hair going hard.

Application tips
Soaking wet hair, straight after the lotion, spraying in sections so the ends take the most of it. Rake through with fingers to spread it, then either shingle each curl or scrunch.
Leave the hair alone from that point. Air drying is what this is built for, so resist touching until it has dried out completely.
Results
Curls dry clumped rather than separated, and the length reads longer because the pattern sits stretched instead of shrunk.
Hold lands in the middle: firm enough to keep the shape all day, soft enough that the hair still moves. It dries fast for a gel, and the cast breaks cleanly.
