Application tips
Curls need to be wet, not damp, for a smoothie to spread properly. Take a section, rake it through with your fingers from root to tip, then smooth down the length with a flat palm and finish with a scrunch upwards.
Repeat around the head. Air dry, or diffuse on low. Do not touch it again while it dries, because that is what turns definition into frizz.
Results
Curl clumps hold together instead of separating into fluff. The finish is soft rather than set, so hair still moves when you shake it out and there is no crust to break up afterwards.
