Application tips
Weigh the powder rather than eyeballing it, then mix with developer to the ratio your developer specifies and stir until no lumps are left in the bowl. Get it on quickly and keep the product wet on the hair, because bleach that dries out stops working.
Check the lift every few minutes against a strand you can wipe clean. Rinse as soon as the target level arrives, then tone. Gloves on, and a mask while you mix.
Results
Lightening is fast, which cuts both ways. Dark hair moves a long way in one process, so a full head gets to blonde without a second session, but the window between the shade you wanted and the one you did not is short.
The powder stays in the bowl while you mix instead of clouding the air around you. Sections come out evenly lifted, which is what makes the toner afterwards predictable.
