Sunshine is a straight, bright yellow rather than a gold or a honey. It suits a full head, streaks or an ombre, and the cream texture is forgiving enough that a first-timer can put it on without help. There is nothing to mix and no developer involved, so the process is closer to leaving on a conditioner than doing a dye job.

  • Conditioning formula, so hair stays soft while the pigment goes on
  • PETA-certified vegan, never tested on animals
  • Free from PPD, ammonia, parabens, phthalates and resorcinol
  • Lasts roughly 4 to 6 weeks depending on hair porosity and aftercare

That 4 to 6 week window is the honest version of semi-permanent. The colour softens gradually rather than dropping off a cliff, and how quickly it goes depends more on how porous your hair is and how you look after it than on anything in the pot.

Application tips

Yellow is the least forgiving shade in the range. The base needs to be lifted to a pale, near-white blonde or the result comes out gold and muddy.

Once you are there, apply to dry hair, coat completely, and leave it twenty-five minutes. Longer does little for yellow. Rinse cold, and use a sulphate-free shampoo from then on.

Results

A clean, sunny yellow with no orange in it when the base is right, sitting brighter than a natural blonde ever manages.

The conditioning cream keeps hair soft while the pigment sits. Yellow has the shortest life of any shade here, going noticeably paler within three or four washes and settling into a soft cream tone that still looks intentional.
