Manic Panic Semi-Permanent Hair Color Cream | Vampire's Kiss Intense Deep Red for Bold, Conditioning Hair (118ml)

Vampire's Kiss is the deep crimson end of the Manic Panic range, a dark red with enough blue in it to read as gothic rather than ginger. It has been a staple of punk and alternative colouring for years, and the reason is consistency. The pigment is dense, so the shade lands rich instead of washed out.

The cream base is conditioning, which matters more than it sounds. Permanent dyes have to open the cuticle to work. This one does not, so hair comes out of the process soft and shiny rather than rough. Manic Panic has been making animal-friendly products since 1977, and the formula still holds to that: vegan, cruelty-free, no animal testing anywhere in the chain.

Semi-permanent means the colour fades over time rather than sitting there until it grows out. Some people treat that as a downside. In practice it gives you room to experiment, refresh the red every few washes, or drift towards something else entirely without reaching for a colour remover. The pot is 118ml.

Gothic, punk and alternative styling is the obvious home for it, though a red this deep reads perfectly well as an everyday colour on anyone who would rather not explain it.
