Application tips
Pin it onto a canvas block before anything else, easing the mesh until it sits smooth with no slack at the crown. Mark your parting position on the outside with a contrasting thread so you can find it once the wefts start covering things up.
Sew in rings from the perimeter inwards, keeping the tension even. Finish the last spiral at the very top, where the closed construction gives you something to anchor into.
Results
A base that keeps its shape while you work, so the finished unit sits the same on a head as it did on the block. Rows lie flat instead of rippling where the mesh has been pulled out of true.
