Application tips
Get your own hair as flat as it will go before the cap touches it. Cornrows running straight back are the usual answer, with the ends tucked away rather than left loose at the nape.
Roll it on from front to back in one movement, then run both palms over the crown and temples to push out any air or gathered fabric. Two seconds of smoothing here saves a visible lump later.
Results
Everything underneath is pressed into one rounded shape, so the wig has a continuous surface to sit against and the edges lie down instead of standing off.
The cap also absorbs the rubbing that would otherwise happen between a unit and your hair, which is where regular wearers see the most wear around the crown and along the perimeter.
