L'Oréal Préférence 9.12 Very Light Ash Beige Blonde | Fade-Defying Luminous Shine Permanent Hair Colour
Ash beige is the middle ground between an icy blonde and a warm one. 9.12 carries cool ash pigment to knock back yellow, plus a beige note that stops the result going grey or flat, which is the usual risk with a heavy ash.
- Cool ash and beige pigments counter yellow undertones
- High Shine Conditioner for gloss and depth after the rinse
- Up to 8 weeks of fade resistance
- Grey coverage in a single permanent application
Worth knowing before you order: the same shade lands differently depending on how porous your hair is. Ends that have been coloured before will grab more of the ash than the mid lengths do.
Beige blondes photograph better than pure ash ones because they keep a little warmth in reserve. If previous ash colours have left you looking drained, this is the one to try instead.

Application tips
Beige tones need even coverage more than most shades, so keep the sections narrow and work the back before the front. The allergy alert test comes first, as the leaflet sets out.
Apply to dry hair in four parts, a full head takes the roots first, a retouch takes the new roots alone. Wash out thoroughly, then leave the conditioner on for a few minutes before drying.
Results
Beige sits between ash and gold, so this lands soft and neutral rather than icy or brassy.
Grey is covered properly instead of showing as a lighter streak. The finish reflects light without looking glassy, and the tone stays balanced for weeks rather than tipping warm the way an unmodified light blonde will.

- Dimethicone
- Smooths the outside of the strand so hair feels slippery, not rough
