L'Oréal Préférence 9.1 Viking Light Ash Blonde Permanent Fade-Defying Hair Colour Kit
Brassiness is the reason most home blondes get redone early. Warm pigment sits underneath every brown base, and lifting exposes it. 9.1 carries cool ash tones to counter that as the colour develops, rather than leaving you to correct it afterwards with a purple shampoo.
It is a light ash blonde, cool and Scandinavian in feel, permanent, and rated at up to eight weeks. Everything needed is in the kit, shine treatment included.
Ash shades deposit less pigment than warm ones, so they show grow out sooner and fade cooler. That is worth knowing before you start rather than after. On a base already blonde or very light brown, it lands close to the shade on the box.
Apply to the roots first if you are covering grow out, then pull the colour through the lengths for the final few minutes. Ash on already ash hair goes flat if it takes a full development twice.

Application tips
Four clear sections, dry hair, and a day since the last wash. The leaflet's reaction test comes before any of that.
Roots first if you are going lighter, roots alone if you are maintaining. Ash shades benefit from a careful comb-through near the end so the tone lands evenly. Rinse until clear, use the conditioner, then leave hot tools alone for a day.
Results
Anyone who has fought brassiness and lost will recognise what the ash is doing here, holding the warmth back so the blonde stays clean rather than golden.
Shine runs high, the tone sits even along the length, and the coolness holds through washing rather than warming up after a fortnight.
