Mix the elixir into the colour rather than saving it for afterwards. That is the step people skip, and it is the one that decides whether the finished blonde looks glossy or chalky.
Level 7 is a useful place to sit. Light enough to read as blonde in daylight, dark enough that the grow out is not a monthly emergency. On a light brown base it lifts and tones in the same step.

Application tips
Ash pulls cool, so porous ends need a shorter contact time. Leave them until the last stretch and comb through then. Test for a reaction as the leaflet directs.
Work on dry, unwashed hair, parted into four. Roots first on a full head, the roots only on a retouch. Rinse fully, condition, and stretch the next wash out by a day or two.
