Full Restore 5 is named for the five things L'Oreal say go wrong with damaged hair at the same time. It gets weak, it breaks, it loses density, it goes dull and it stops feeling smooth.
The formula behind that is Pro-Keratin and ceramide. Keratin is what hair is made of, and adding a hydrolysed version fills in the rough patches where the fibre has worn away. Ceramide works on the layer that holds the cuticle scales down. Between them the hair ends up firmer to the touch and less inclined to snap when you handle it.
