Application tips
Think of it as the last thing that happens while your hair is still wet, not something applied later.
Work in four sections. A generous scoop per section, smoothed down the length, then finger-coiled or raked depending on how defined you want it. Air dry or diffuse on low. Handling it while it dries is what creates frizz, so keep your hands off until it sets, then scrunch the crunch away.
Results
Definition arrives once the cast breaks. Before that the hair feels hard and looks slightly odd, which catches out anyone using a custard for the first time.
After that stage, curls sit soft, springy and clearly separated, with a shine that comes from a smooth surface rather than added gloss. Wavier hair gets a tighter pattern out of it. The smaller tub is a sensible way to find out whether your hair likes it before committing.
