Jamaican Mango & Lime Cactus Oil 4 oz
Four ounces of prickly pear cactus oil, pressed from the seeds and used a few drops at a time. Cactus oil is one of the more expensive plant oils to produce, which is why the bottle is small and the instructions say to go easy.
The composition is what makes it interesting. A high concentration of vitamin E, plus linoleic and oleic acids and the betalain antioxidants that give cactus its colour. The molecules are small, so the oil moves past the surface of the strand rather than resting on it, and it does that without the residue heavier oils leave behind. On coils and curls the effect is closer to conditioning than coating, which is the reason people who dislike oils tend to make an exception for this one.
