When a soft gel will not hold the shape, this is the next tube along. Eco Styler's black 170g squeeze tube is the extreme end of their range, rated for up to 48 hours on slick backs, sculpted looks and detailed edge work.
The formula locks shape and finishes smooth, with frizz resistance and no flaking or build-up on the surface. Panthenol is in the mix, and like the rest of the line it is alcohol-free and made without parabens, sulfates, DEA or TEA. Work it into damp hair section by section, comb or smooth into place, then leave it alone until it is completely dry. Touching a stiff-hold gel while it sets is how you get a broken edge.
Pick it when maximum control is the point and flexibility is not. For anything you want to rework mid-week, the flex tube is the better buy.

Application tips
This is the strongest in the tube range, so a little does more than you expect. Apply to wet hair in thin, even layers, working the gel right down to the roots for slick backs.
Brush or comb the shape immediately, because once it starts to set there is no adjusting it. Leave it entirely alone while it hardens. One application, not two.
Results
Slick backs, sharp partings and detailed edges that survive two days rather than one. The hold is genuinely rigid, which is the point, and humidity does not soften it.
No flaking along the hairline and no white residue as it dries. Because it sets hard, this is a poor choice for anyone who wants movement; the flexible versions exist for that.
