The 4.5 oz can is the size to reach for if you install full frontals rather than closures. A frontal has more lace to lay, and the aerosol covers the whole span in one pass without you having to work back over a section that has already started to set. Melt sprays and adhesives get confused with each other. The adhesive holds the unit on. The melt spray flattens the lace into the skin so the join stops being visible, and it can go over adhesive or work alone. Hold the can back further than feels right, because close-range spraying is what leaves an aerosol looking wet and patchy at the edge.

Application tips
Best done in two halves. Lay the frontal, then spray from temple to centre parting, and again from the other temple, keeping the can moving so nothing pools.
Press the lace with a flat hand while it is still wet, wrap a band or scarf around the head, and give it a proper ten minutes. Any hair that drifted into the mist brushes out once dry.
Results
One sweep across a full frontal is the point of the larger can: the whole span sets at the same rate, so you are not smoothing one half while the other has already gone off.
