Wrapping is how relaxed and transitioning hair gets a smooth finish overnight, and the lotion you use decides whether it holds until morning or falls out by breakfast.

Compositions is a professional foaming wrap lotion. It coats the strand to give a smooth, frizz-free base, then holds the wrap in place while it dries. It also sits between your hair and a blow dryer or flat iron as thermal protection, which matters more than the hold does if you heat style regularly.

  • Hydrolysed Wheat Protein to strengthen the shaft and reduce breakage during heat styling
  • Panthenol for moisture, body and flexibility
  • Glycerin to draw moisture in and hold it there through the style
  • Lightweight foam that will not weigh hair down or leave build-up

7.5oz. It covers most of the techniques a textured hair routine involves, from a full wrap to a straightforward roller set, which is why it turns up on salon trolleys more often than in bathroom cabinets. Works on textured, relaxed and transitioning hair.

Application tips

Foam goes onto damp hair, not wet and not dry. Dispense into the palm, apply through the hair in sections, then comb it through so it reaches evenly from root to end.

Wrap the hair around the head, or set it on rollers, and dry fully under a hood. Take it down and brush out only when there is no dampness left anywhere.

Results

The base comes out smooth and flat, which is what a wrap needs before anything else. Frizz and flyaways stay down, and the hair holds the shape it was set in.

The finish is shiny and it moves. Nothing feels lacquered, there is no build-up after repeat use, and the hair keeps enough moisture that it does not go dry under the heat.
