Dark and Lovely built this range around Satin Oil, and in the shampoo it does the job of keeping a deep cleanse from turning into a dry one. Hair comes out clean without the squeaky, stretched feeling that harsh sulphates leave behind.
The Healthy-Gloss formula is aimed at five things at once: moisture, shine, strength, softness and body. In practice that means it lifts product residue, pollution and excess oil while leaving the moisture barrier more or less where it was, so frizz stays down and curls or a relaxed finish both hold their shape. It is lightweight enough not to flatten natural volume, which is the usual trade-off with a conditioning shampoo. 400ml, and it suits textured and curly hair as well as relaxed styles that need shine more than they need lift.
