Black is the hardest shade to make look expensive. Done badly it goes flat and slightly blue, and it sits on the hair like a lid. Intense Black is built to keep depth and light in it.
Two things do that work. Double argan oil treatments run through the colouring process, conditioning as the dye deposits, so the strand comes out soft instead of squeaky. Strengthening Micro-Sphere Technology is the other half, fortifying the hair from within while the colour goes on, which counts for a lot on hair that has been relaxed or heat-styled before it ever meets a permanent dye.

Application tips
Black is the hardest colour to remove, so be sure before you start. It will not lift out and it will not fade to a lighter brown either. A barrier cream or balm around the hairline saves scrubbing later. Work in four sections with a tint brush for even coverage, roots first on grey. Keep to the development time on the leaflet; longer does not make black blacker.
Results
A true black with depth in it rather than the flat, slightly blue result cheap dye gives. In daylight the hair still shows shape and movement instead of reading as one solid block.
Regrowth is the thing to plan for. At this depth the line shows within three or four weeks, so a root touch-up becomes part of the routine rather than a full head every time.
