This is the finishing step in the Oud Rich Infusion line, and the one that stays in the hair rather than getting rinsed. A few drops on dry hair seal the cuticle down, which is what puts shine on the surface and stops the frizz reforming an hour after you style.

The blend is rich, so it wants a light hand. Two or three drops warmed between the palms and pressed into the mid-lengths and ends is enough for most heads. Any more and looser textures go flat. On damp hair it does a different job, layering under a cream to slow the moisture evaporating out as the hair dries.

The oud carries through from the mask, so the scent is warm and woody and it lingers.

Best for type 2a through 3c hair that is dry or dull and needs sealing rather than softening. 4 oz.

Application tips

Tip the bottle rather than pouring. Two drops onto one palm, rub the palms together until the oil warms, then take it through the outer layer of the hair where the light actually hits.

Keep it off the scalp and the roots entirely. Used before bed, apply to the ends only and sleep in a bonnet so it stays on the hair rather than the pillow.

Results

The surface goes from matte to glossy within seconds, and flyaways that kept lifting sit back down.

Frizz stops reforming an hour after styling, which is the practical difference between an oil and a cream here. Ends look sealed rather than fluffy, and the oud scent stays warm and woody in the hair for the rest of the day.

Composition

Oud
Agarwood resin, carrying the warm woody scent through the whole range
