C2C Professional Cream Peroxide Maximum Lifting & Vibrant Colour for Professional Salons & Stylists 40 Vol 1000ml (33.81 oz)
Forty volume is the top of the standard range and it is not a general-purpose developer. At 12% it is for pre-lightening and high-lift work, where the target is a genuine blonde from a dark starting point. C2C rate it at up to seven to eight levels of lift when it is used with a powder bleach, which puts full-head blonde, heavy highlights and balayage in range. The cream base holds on the section instead of running, so the ends do not process ahead of the mid-lengths while you finish the back.
- Lower volumes are the usual choice for on-scalp work
- Mix to the ratio on the lightener you are using, not to a habit
- Strand test hair that has been coloured, relaxed or heat damaged before you commit
- One litre goes a long way, which is why it is sold at this size for salons
Professional strength, and it wants professional handling.

Application tips
Off-scalp work, in fine sections, with the bowl mixed fresh rather than left standing. Follow the ratio printed on the lightener you are pairing it with.
Start where the hair is darkest or most resistant and finish where it lifts fastest, then watch it rather than trusting a clock. Full protective kit, and never on a scalp that is broken or freshly scratched.
Results
Up to seven or eight levels of lift with a powder bleach, which is what puts genuine blonde within reach of a dark base. Full-head lightening, heavy highlights and balayage all sit inside that range.
Development is steady rather than sudden, so a test section checked part-way through is a reliable guide to where the rest is heading.
