Shea and cocoa butter are a deliberate pairing.

Shea is soft and sinks in. Cocoa is harder and firms up slightly as it cools, which is what gives this moisturiser its staying power on the strand. Together they make a cream that hydrates and seals in the same pass. That matters most on hair that is dry and brittle rather than merely undefined. The 8oz jar is thick, and you use it on damp hair where it can lock water in, not on dry hair where it only coats. Curl definition comes along with it, but the moisture is the reason to buy it.

Scoop a little, warm it in your palms until it loosens, then work it through sectioned damp hair from the ends upward. Follow with a gel if you want hold. Made for curly, coily and kinky textures that dry out within a day of washing.

Application tips

Damp hair, always. This is thick, and on dry hair it sits on the surface and turns white as it dries.

Scoop, warm it between the palms, then smooth over a section and rake through. Follow with a twist out, a braid out or a wash and go.

Fine and wavy hair should stay well clear of the roots, since there is real weight in it.

Results

Dry, brittle strands turn pliable, and coils that were snapping while you parted them start to give instead.

Definition holds for days rather than hours, and the finish stays soft to touch instead of stiff. Frizz keeps down as the hair dries. On thick, coarse textures it is one of the few creams heavy enough to be felt, and the 8oz jar goes further than the size suggests.

Composition

The full INCI is printed on the pack. We publish it here as soon as the brand supplies it, and we will read it off the bottle for you if you ask.
