Mobile hairdressers are the obvious audience here. A steamer is heavy, awkward and the wrong shape for a car boot, and the Aphrodite cap does most of the same work while folding down to almost nothing.

It runs three heat settings with an over-heat protection system built in, so the temperature is controlled rather than left to guesswork. Warmth opens the cuticle, and once it is open, whatever you have put on the hair gets in properly instead of sitting on the surface.

  • Steaming and hot oil treatments
  • Deep conditioning, where heat is what makes the difference
  • Colour, for deeper and longer-lasting results
  • Henna treatments
  • Perming, where it shortens the processing time

Just as useful at home as on the road. If you have ever wrapped your head in cling film and a towel and hoped for the best, this is the version of that which actually holds a temperature.

Application tips

Put your treatment on first, cover the hair with a plastic cap, then the heat cap over the top. That plastic layer keeps product off the fabric and traps steam where it is useful.

Start on the lowest of the three settings and work up only if you need to. Sit still for the length of the treatment. Let it cool before folding it away, and keep it dry.

Results

Warmth is what gets a conditioner past the surface, and the gap between a masque used cold and the same masque used warm shows on the same head of hair.

Colour comes out deeper. Hot oil actually sinks in. Perms and henna move along faster. For a mobile round it does the work of a hood dryer while packing down to the size of a jumper.

Composition

The full INCI is printed on the pack. We publish it here as soon as the brand supplies it, and we will read it off the bottle for you if you ask.
