Application tips
Detangle in the shower, while the shampoo is still on. Wet the hair through, massage it in with the fingertips, then use the slip while you have it: separate into four, work the knots apart from the ends up, and clip each section before you rinse.
Results
Slip is the whole point, and there is plenty of it. Kinkier textures that normally lock together under water stay separated instead, so the knots you can feel come apart under your fingers rather than under a comb. Frizz settles as it dries. Hair comes out soft rather than squeaky, which is the state you want before a leave-in goes on.
