African Pride Dream Kids Detangling Moisturizing Conditioner 12oz
A rinse out conditioner from the Dream Kids line, made to leave children's hair bouncy and shiny rather than flat and squeaky. It works on curly, coiled, wavy and relaxed hair, which covers most of what you will find in a family bathroom.
The detangling is the practical benefit. Conditioned hair lets a comb through and unconditioned hair does not, and the difference on a Sunday evening is measured in tears. It also puts moisture back after shampooing, which is when hair is at its driest and most fragile, and when a rough comb through does the most damage.
Leave it on for a couple of minutes before rinsing rather than treating it as a quick pass, and do the comb through while the product is still in. Children's hair takes conditioner quickly, but the slip only lasts while it is there.

Application tips
After shampoo, on hair that has been squeezed out. Work it in from the ends up with the fingers, in two or four sections depending on how much hair there is.
Leave it while you do the rest of the bath, then rinse. If a child will not sit still for that, comb it through with a wide tooth comb as you rinse, which gets both jobs done at once.
Results
Tangles loosen enough that combing stops being a fight, which for most families is the entire problem solved. Curls come out springy rather than flattened. Hair dries with shine on it and stays soft into the next day, so the morning brush is easier too. The texture is light, so young hair does not end up looking greasy at the roots by teatime.
