Step 2 of the Affirm Argan system, which is the relaxer cream itself. Normal strength, meaning it is calibrated for hair that is neither fine and fragile nor especially coarse and resistant.
Choosing the right strength matters more than any other decision in a relaxer service. Too weak and the hair is under-processed and reverts within weeks. Too strong and you have over-processing, which is not something a conditioner fixes afterwards. Normal covers most medium-textured hair, and if you are unsure, a strand test before a full application answers the question.
Argan oil is worked into the formula so that the straightening pass leaves hair softer than a bare relaxer would. It does not make the chemistry gentler, but it does mean less of that stripped, squeaky feel afterwards.
This is professional product. Follow the system, use the pre-treatment and the post-relaxer neutralising steps that go with it, and time it properly.

Application tips
Do not wash the hair for a week beforehand, and do not scratch or brush hard on the day. An intact scalp is the whole safety margin.
Base the scalp and hairline with protective cream, apply to new growth only on a retouch, and smooth rather than comb. Keep a timer running from the first section. Rinse for longer than feels necessary, then neutralise straight away.
Results
Texture drops to a smooth, straight finish that takes a fraction of the drying time it used to. New growth blends into previously relaxed lengths with no visible line where the two meet.
Hair comes out of the rinse with slip on it and holds movement instead of lying flat.
Styling afterwards asks for less heat, which is where most of the long term wear on relaxed hair comes from.
