What Frizz Actually Is — The Cuticle Mechanism

A single hair strand is built like a pencil. The cortex (the lead) sits in the middle and holds the protein and pigment that determine curl shape. Type 2 (2A, 2B, 2C) — wave canopy frizz. Type 2 frizz almost always presents as canopy frizz, and the cause is almost always too-heavy product weighing down the underneath while the top dries unprotected.
