Revlon Lotta Body Control Me Edge Gel: Smooth, Frizz-Free Edges & Styling for All Hair Types 2.25 oz
Edge control that also conditions is a small category, and this is one of the better-known entries in it. Coconut oil, shea butter, castor oil and argan oil sit in the formula alongside the hold, and that is the point: the hairline is the most fragile hair on your head and it does not need a drying gel applied to it daily.
The hold itself is firm without being rigid. It lays baby hairs, holds a swoop, and does not go chalky or flake off through the day. The 2.25 oz jar gets used a fingertip at a time with a brush, so it lasts a long time.
Apply to slightly damp edges, shape with a brush, then tie a silk scarf over the hairline for ten minutes while it sets. It works on relaxed, natural and heat-styled hair, and it is the one to pick if you lay your edges every morning and want the conditioning oils in there.

Application tips
Edges want the smallest amount you can pick up. Take a little on the back of a fingernail or the tip of a brush, warm it against the skin, then lay the baby hairs in the direction they already grow rather than fighting them into a shape.
Tie a satin scarf over the top for ten minutes while it sets. Wash the residue out before bed.
Results
Edges that stay put through a working day and through weather, held firm without going brittle. The finish is glossy rather than matt, so a laid edge catches light along the hairline.
Nothing turns white as it dries and nothing balls up if you touch it. The oils in the base keep the hairline from feeling dry underneath, which is the part cheap gels get wrong.
Composition
- Coconut Oil
- Moves into the strand so edges stay flexible rather than snapping when brushed
- Shea Butter
- Softens the hairline and stops the gel drying the skin underneath
- Castor Oil
- Thick and tacky, it adds grip so the lay holds longer
- Argan Oil
- Brings the shine that makes a laid edge look finished, not stiff
