Application tips
Matte wax wants dry hair. Damp hair drags shine back into the finish, which defeats the point of buying a matte. Warm a small amount until it thins out, then push it through the mid lengths and ends with your fingers spread, working against the direction of growth for texture. Skip the roots unless you want the shape flattened. Add more only once the first pass has settled.
Results
No shine in it at all, which is what gives a short textured cut that dry, lived in look rather than a styled one.
Hold is strong and the separation between pieces stays visible through the day. It does not stiffen or leave grit behind, and a normal shampoo clears it out without any buildup left in the roots.
