Founded by Jonathan Torch at the Curly Hair Institute in Toronto, Curl Keeper is the water-based, light-slip line with a cult following amongst curlies who can't tolerate heavy or oily products. Famously formulated without proteins or oils. Curl Keeper Roller Jaw Clamps is a curl-care accessory from the brand — stocked at Zenvy Beauty UK with free delivery over £40 and next-working-day shipping if you order before 2pm.

What it does

A practical curl-care accessory designed to support healthy curl routines.

Hair type

Best for type 2C through 4C textures. The brand formulates broadly across the curl spectrum — adjust application amount based on density and porosity. Wavy and looser-curl users should start with smaller amounts to avoid weigh-down.

How to use

  1. First we need the hair clean, wet and detangled with Curl Keeper® applied from roots to ends. Clean sections make it easier to identify the areas needing the most attention
  2. First take a section of wet hair, bend it in half by holding the ends and reducing tension
  3. Twist that section of hair down to the scalp. Hold in place and support with the Roller Jaw Clamp. Even sections ensure a balanced hairstyle
  4. Once you have attached all the clamps you are using, allow the hair to dry for as long as you can. This will ensure a tighter set. To speed up drying time use a Hot Sock Diffuser or Bonnet Hood Dryer with Roller Jaw Clamps in place

Frequently asked

How is it used?

Refer to the directions above. Most curl accessories are designed for either nighttime protection (bonnets, satin pillowcases), wash-day sectioning (clips, clamps), or post-wash drying (microfibre towels, T-shirts).

How do I clean it?

Hand-wash in cool water with a gentle detergent; air-dry. Avoid tumble-drying which can damage satin or microfibre fibres.

Will it fit my hair?

Most accessories are sized to fit braids, twists and natural hair across the type 2–4 spectrum. Check the size info above for specifics.

How long does it last?

With proper care, satin accessories last 6–12 months of nightly use; sectioning tools (clips, clamps) last several years. Replace satin accessories when they lose their slip.
